Maria Sitzoglou is an Architect - Urban Designer, currently working as a Consultant of Urban Resilience within the program “100 Resilient Cities pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation” for the City of Thessaloniki,Greece. Her specific focus is on Participatory Planning projects and Community Engagement. Maria received her Master’s degree in Urban Design from UC Berkeley, USA and her Master’s degree in Architecture from Democritus University of Thrace, Greece . Her previous professional experience includes participatory planning projects in collaboration with local public schools , working as a Design Consultant for School Buildings Organization S.A., an organization supervised by The Ministry of Education and The Ministry of Infrastructure in Greece and as an Advisor-Design Consultant for the Center for Cities and Schools, UC Berkeley, CA, USA. Moreover, she is a writer for the Child Friendly Cities European Network- Child in the City Foundation continuing her ongoing research on Child Friendly Cities.
