Mariana Alegre has a Master Degree in City Design and Social Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and is a Chevening scholar. She studied a Bachelor degree in Law in the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and when she got her Master Degree in Human Rights, she knew urban rights was her passion. Currently, she is the General Coordinator of the citizen observatory “Lima Cómo Vamos” (
www.limacomovamos.org) that contributes in improving Lima’s citizens quality of life and promotes the strategy “Ocupa Tu Calle” (
www.ocupatucalle.org) that seeks to recover and create more public spaces. Mariana does research on different urban phenomenona, particularly about urban sustainable mobility, public spaces and urban renovation with social inclusion. She writes a weekly column in Peru 21 journal. Mariana rides her bicycle and walks around her city.
