Side Event: Boiling Amsterdam: A Live Crowdfunding Event for Placemakers

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Tickets now available for pre-sale and at the door. Cost: €10 (including boiling hot soup).

Boiling makes crowdfunding simpler, faster, and more fun than ever.  At this Boiling Pitch Night four impatient creative city makers present their innovative ideas for Amsterdam. You pay €10—a 100% donation to the winning idea—and this gives you entrance to the event, a nice boiling hot soup, and most importantly voting rights. All visitors get to vote on which idea is best and together you decide who wins and get’s to execute their idea quickly.

Tickets & Details:
Pitchers Lineup:
  • Matchmaking Walks by Makers Unite: connecting refugees and Amsterdammers professionally
  • The Sock from the Park by Anastasia Eggers & Ottonie von Roeder: socks made in a 'park factory' run by sheep
  • Living Light by Karlijn Arts: lighting up the city with plants
  • On-the-go Audio Platform by Florian Geerken: listening to audiotours while commuting
How it works:
  1. Visitors donate €10: a 100% donation, plus you'll get soup and voting power.
  2. Four city makers pitch their idea.
  3. All visitors vote and share tips.
  4. The pitcher with the most votes goes home with the collected sum, doubled by the Boiling partners.
  5. At the next Boiling the winning city maker shows what he or she has done with the money.
The ticket is a full donation and includes a delicious soup. Partners are Knowledge MileGemeente Amsterdam, and AkzoNobel.
