Workshop: Placemaking for Innovation Districts, the Chattanooga Way

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Working together works. Since 2014, Chattanoogans have collaborated to transform their downtown into a hub of high-tech entrepreneurship, built upon ultra, high-speed internet and a vital public realm.

Hear how three managers of public spaces and buildings in Chattanooga's Innovation District are using placemaking to accelerate economic development. Their presentation will focus on how to build collaborative partnerships and programming through "the Chattanooga Way," and activate public places that build community, both indoors and out.

Through a hands-on workshop, this session will also dig deep into the ongoing challenges facing the district—particularly ensuring that the district's workplaces and public places are open to all Chattanoogans and working with difficult legacy public spaces.
