A year ago, 197 countries signed onto the New Urban Agenda, an international agreement to guide sustainable, equitable urban development. What has happened since then?

This panel session will be an occasion for UN-Habitat, the lead United Nations agency on urban development, and other partner organisations to take stock of the first year of implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the EU Urban Agenda, with special attention to public space and placemaking.

What lessons have been drawn from work on the ground? What practical tools can cities and citizens use to drive global change from the local level?
